WRITER | RESEARCHER | FILMMAKER
ليلى لطيفة
Laila Latifa is a writer, filmmaker and researcher working between London and Morocco. She has spent over five years writing for the stage, and in recent years has expanded into film and long-form writing.
Her work is concerned with identity and belonging as lived, contested experiences, shaped by class, inheritance, migration, and systems of power. Rooted in oral storytelling, her practice explores how people navigate contradiction, carry memory, and negotiate visibility within societies that often misread or erase them. Through theatre, film, and essays, she is interested in stories that sit between languages, cultures, and forms.
